The Triund Trek is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly Himalayan treks, located near McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Set at an altitude of around 9,350 ft, this trek offers stunning views of the Dhauladhar Range on one side and the Kangra Valley on the other.

Located just a few hours from Dehradun and Mussoorie, the trek offers a perfect blend of accessibility and natural beauty. The trail passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, open meadows, and charming villages before reaching the summit. From the top, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of prominent Himalayan peaks such as Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Gangotri, and Kedarnath.

Best Time to Trek Triund

The best time to trek Triund is from March to June and September to December. During these months, the weather is pleasant, the trail is clear, and the views are at their best. Spring and summer offer lush greenery, while winter months provide snow-covered landscapes. The trek can be avoided during peak monsoon due to slippery trails.

Day1 : Arrival at Dehradun

Arrive at Dehradun and check in to the hotel. Meet the trek coordinator for briefing about the trek, safety guidelines, and weather conditions. The rest of the day is free for rest and acclimatisation. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, drive from Dehradun to Pantwari village. Start trekking through scenic forest trails and local villages towards Nag Tibba Base Camp. Reach the campsite by evening and enjoy dinner under the open sky. Overnight stay in tents.

Early morning, trek to the Nag Tibba Summit. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of snow-clad Himalayan peaks. Spend time at the summit before descending back to the base camp. Evening at leisure followed by dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

After breakfast, descend from the base camp to Pantwari village. Drive back to Dehradun and check into the hotel. The evening is free for local sightseeing or relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
