Best Time to Trek Kedarkantha

The best time to do the Kedarkantha Trek is from December to April for snow lovers. During winter, the trail is covered in snow, offering a magical experience. For greenery and clear views, April to June is also a good time. The trek is usually avoided during peak monsoon due to slippery trails.

Upon reaching the charming village of Janglikh, you’ll receive a trek briefing before settling into camp. As night falls, gather around a cozy bonfire under the stars, sharing stories and savoring a hearty meal—the perfect start to your Chandernahan Lake trek. Overnight stay in Janglikh.

Begin your day at leisure, exploring Janglikh’s charming heritage village. After breakfast, embark on a 4-5 hour moderate trek through dense forests and rolling meadows. The trail offers stunning views as you ascend through grassy slopes to reach Dayara Thach, a breathtaking alpine meadow. As evening falls, enjoy a warm meal under the stars before settling into your campsite, surrounded by nature’s tranquility. Overnight stay at Dayara Thach.

After breakfast, trek through the breathtaking Mounti Thach meadows – a paradise for nature lovers. The 5-6 hour ascent leads to Litham Thach, where you’ll be greeted by the majestic Chandernahan Waterfall. Enroute, visit the newly formed Mundar Lake before returning to Litham. Set up camp near the roaring waterfall, surrounded by stunning Himalayan vistas. Overnight in tents amidst nature’s symphony.

Rise early for breakfast before embarking on a magical journey to the Seven Frozen Glacial Ponds, the sacred source of the Pabbar River. The fifth pond—the largest—gleams like a Himalayan jewel. Trek through vast meadows dotted with grazing herds, a sight that will capture your heart. As daylight fades, return to Dayara Thach where a warm dinner awaits. Spend your final night under a blanket of stars, serenaded by mountain whispers, as the Himalayas etch unforgettable memories into your soul.
